The Al-Arabiya network reports that a heavy missile attack was directed against the Al-Taji base. The base in question hosts US troops and is located about 27 kilometers north of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad.
The Al-Taji base was conquered by the Americans in 2003 and has often been the target of attacks against US forces in Iraq. Also, this evening's rocket attack is not the first heavy attack on the base. For example, on May 1, 2011, three days after its elimination Of Osama bin Laden, 120 rockets, mortars and artillery were fired at the base and its surroundings.
As we recall, last week, more than 15 missiles fired from Iran at two US bases in Iraq, with military equipment damage and the hangars at bases, although no American or Iraqi soldiers were injured.
