Following a series of meetings between the new right-wing chairman Naftali Bennett and the chairman of the Jewish House Rafi Peretz in preparation for the closure of the lists that will contest the 23rd Knesset election, an agreement was signed between the parties tonight (Wednesday), about an hour before the closing of the candidates' register.

Representatives who will contest the elections came to the Knesset residence this evening, where the parties were required to submit their list of candidates until the deadline at 23:30 tonight. Arrival at the Tabernacle was possible until 10 pm, and no changes to the list compositions were approved. Yesterday ten lists were submitted for election to the 23rd Knesset and today Blue and White parties, Shas, Torah Jewry, Israel Beitano, Labor-Gesher-Meretz, the joint list and Likud submitted the list of candidates.

The efforts to unify the right-wing Likud to one list went on until the last minute, and the agreement was signed after a meeting of the two ministers with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, following a meeting held in Kiryat Tel Aviv. As part of the agreement, powerful power chairman Itamar Ben Gvir remained outside, thus breaking Peretz's promise to Ben Gvir, who was at the center of the controversy in an attempt to connect the parties. During his meeting, Peretz tweeted in his Twitter account the word "word is word" and after seconds deleted The tweet.

Ben Gvir attacked Peretz, Bennett, Smutrich and Ayelet Shaked after the agreement was signed, saying they did not deserve leadership. "This evening, the politics of religious Zionism reached a low, the Minister of Education betrayed me and 184,000 people who voted Jewish power. We saved his political career, Smutrich, Bennett, Ayelet Shaked - everyone was on the rise." Jewish Power Chairman added: "What interests these people is just ego. These are not people worthy of leadership. These people not only put an end to their political careers, but want to jeopardize right-wing rule. Jewish power will run - and win. "

PM Olmert congratulated Minister Peretz on agreement. "Rafi Peretz showed leadership and did the right thing," Netanyahu said.

On the other hand, Blue and White chairman Benny Gantz and party leader Yair Lapid attacked the party's connection. "State religious Zionist voters lost the political house. Racism, homophobia and exclusion are not Jewish values. The right is not a guarantee of personal immunity to a defendant in bribery, "said Gantz. Lapid appealed to religious Zionism not to vote for a united list." Appeals to religious Zionism not to vote for the list that entered its messianic and homophobic party this evening contrary to all its promises. The one who won't vote for Bibi because she is against corruption. "

Rabbi Haim Druckman also joined the meeting with the prime minister, one of the prominent rabbis of religious Zionism who has been involved in recent weeks in mediation and compromise attempts between Smutrich and Peretz. Earlier this evening, Ben Gvir said he trusted Minister Peretz not to violate the agreement signed between the Jewish home and Jewish power.

In addition, as part of the changes in the last day's lists, the Likud secretariat earlier approved MK Gadi Jibran's armor of blue on the list of 20. After the MK was ousted by his party chairman Benny Gantz in the background contacts he had with the ruling party .

Meanwhile, MK Autumn Shapir announced her retirement from the race for elections. Shapir said she "proudly pays the price of the union" on the left. "The fate of the state is more important than any chair in the Knesset, even if this time I am the one I sat in," she added. Shafir, who remained outside the left-wing union between Labor-Bridge and Meretz, has struggled in recent days to continue her path, and today announced her retirement.
