The Jews who made us Oscar

It's no secret that Jews bring a numerical and high-quality representation that is hard to ignore in Hollywood, but because we all need credentials all the time - here are a few hot Jewish names that won the Oscar and made us the year

The list of nominees for the prestigious Academy Award released last night gives us, the Jews, a reason to smile. It's no secret that Hollywood is full of Jews, but every time we discover another actor, singer, producer, screenwriter or director who belongs to the Jewish people, we are filled with a single pride, almost as if we were playing, creating or singing.

With two Oscar nominations and a superhero role, Scarlett Johansson retains her status as one of Hollywood's biggest stars. She is a Christian father and a Jewish mother, defines herself as Jewish and even celebrates Jewish holidays, such as Chanukah. In a 2017 interview, she said she learned that some of her family had perished in the Warsaw ghetto.

What a joker

The Oscars were marked by the Joker, who in the meantime won the highest number of nominations and even the Golden Lion Award at the Toronto Festival. The star of the movie is actor Joaquin Phoenix, who is also, believe it or not, a Jew. Phoenix was born to a Jewish mother who grew up in an Orthodox family. In an interview published in Walla about a year and a half ago, Phoenix was quoted as saying "My dream has always been to travel in Israel with my mother, but it has not yet been realized." As far as we are concerned, you are totally welcome!

there were times

Although not a Jew himself, but for us he is definitely part of the only pride, after winning the Golden Globe and giving his love to his wife, Daniela Pick, in Hebrew, we hold fingers to Quentin Tarantino who was nominated for his film "There were times in Hollywood" and hope he gets another Hebrew speech on stage The most important film awards in the world.

Behind the Scenes

We, the viewers, are used to focusing on actors, but at the Oscars, the people behind the camera are also honored, with one of them being Todd Phillips, who wrote, produced and directed the movie Joker. The movie, played by Joaquin Phoenix (also a Jewish Jew), is the movie with the most nominations this year.

It seems that in writing and directing we have more than one Jewish candidate. Sam Mendes, who co-wrote, also produced and directed the movie '1917' is a Jew. His mother, Valerie Helen is a British British writer and we will consider which may hold our fingers.

At Disney, too

In a sharp transition from directing and writing to music, there seems to be a respectable and exciting Jewish representation there as well. Disney's "Into the Unknown" song from the movie 'Elsa 2' is one of the top winners in the original song category. The song, which won this awards season already in the Golden Globes, was sung by American Jewish singer Idina Mendel. A source of pride!
