The Center for Health Protection said that according to the Thai health department, the second confirmed case of a new coronavirus infection involved a 74-year-old female patient from Wuhan City, Hubei Province, who was found to have a fever on January 13 when she arrived in Bangkok, Thailand. After receiving isolation treatment at a local medical institution, laboratory tests later confirmed a positive response to the new coronavirus. The CHP is closely monitoring the case.

The WHO states that following Thailand and Japan have confirmed new cases of new coronavirus infections outside China, it is expected that other countries will have the opportunity to have new cases due to international travel patterns. The WHO believes that there is not enough information to judge the virus's transmission route, clinical characteristics, and the extent of its spread, and the source of the virus is unknown. WHO encourages countries to continue to respond.

The Centre for Health Protection urges citizens to maintain personal, food and environmental hygiene at all times, whether during local or overseas travel, including keeping hands clean at all times, especially before touching the mouth, nose, or eyes; after touching public facilities such as handrails or door handles; Or when your hands are contaminated with respiratory secretions, such as after coughing or sneezing. When symptoms of respiratory tract infection occur, surgical masks should be worn instead of going to work or school. Avoid going to crowded places and seeing a doctor as soon as possible.
