Francisco Santos: Maduro's government is not interested in freedoms (2017) 0:37
(CNN Spanish) - The Colombian ambassador to the United States, Francisco Santos, presented his resignation on Friday, the press department of the Presidency of Colombia confirmed to CNN.
Santos sent a letter of resignation to President Iván Duque and, although he does not specify the reasons for his resignation, he thanks the trust placed in him to lead the country's diplomatic mission in Washington. (Look here the letter)
Before the resignation of the ambassador was confirmed, in an interview with the Colombian radio station, Authentic Radio, Duque said Santos could continue collaborating on other fronts, "in that place or wherever I want to determine it."
Santos's resignation comes days after the visit of the United States Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, to Colombia.
