The leader of the Iranian Islamic Revolution, Imam Sayyid Ali Khamenei, stressed the necessity of the countries of the region standing in the face of American hegemony and their disposal, noting that determining the fate of the region by its states and liberating Palestine is subject to ending this hegemony.
Khamenei said in his Friday sermon today that the enemies planted the Israeli cancerous entity in the region and they are now stirring strife and wars with the aim of exterminating the countries of the region and seeking to divide Iraq and rudely refuse to withdraw their forces from him, stressing at the same time that the United States has established ISIS and deployed its terrorists in the region to target Syria, Iraq and Iran.
Khamenei also stressed that the peoples of the region can lay the foundation of the new civilization through cooperation, cohesion and knowledge and that what Syria and the temptations in Lebanon and sabotage in Iraq went through is a model for the enemy's policy, warning that the enemies of the region want to achieve their progress at the expense of the backwardness of their peoples and indicating that they were able to dominate some Regulations by weapon and cunning policy.
Khamenei considered that Iran had dealt a blow to the prestige and arrogance of the United States by its missile response to the "cowardly" crime by assassinating General Qassem Soleimani and said: "The martyr Soleimani was one of the strongest leaders in fighting terrorism and the Americans did not face him face to face but targeted him treacherously from the air."
Khamenei expressed sympathy to the families of the victims of the devastated Ukrainian plane, stressing that the American media tried to use this humanitarian tragedy to attack Iran and hold it responsible for the accident.
On the nuclear agreement, Khamenei questioned the intentions of the European troika, France, Britain and Germany, and its recent announcement of activating the dispute settlement mechanism. He said that these countries "serve Washington's interests and cannot be trusted with regard to the agreement."
He pointed out that Iran does not oppose negotiations with any party except the United States, but he stressed that this process should not be out of weakness.
To that, mass demonstrations took place throughout Iran to express its support for the Iranian leadership in facing challenges and threats, and to condemn the crime of assassinating General Soleimani. The participants chanted slogans denouncing the American terrorist act and burned pictures of the American president.
