Russia today warned that the US withdrawal from the open skies treaty would pose a threat to European security, noting that such a step would compel it to take appropriate measures.

"We consider the Open Skies Treaty an important measure for building confidence and transparency in the military field ... We realize the importance and necessity of implementing its full operations ...
