Afghanistan is seen as a scene of struggle between the US and the Taliban, dating back to 2001, when the al-Qaeda terrorist organization took a central place in the shower since the days of Osama Bin Laden. Signing the Taliban-US understanding agreement is a significant source of hope for ending the fighting in a country that is already waging Close to 19 years.

The Reuters news agency reported that US and Taliban freight teams met on Wednesday and Thursday this week to discuss the signing of a peace deal, according to a spokesman for the organization in Doha, Qatar. Taliban political spokesman Suheil Shahin tweeted on Twitter today that the talks so far have been helpful and are expected to continue for several days.

Remember, last September, President Trump invited Taliban and Afghan leaders to the White House summit, a summit that was prevented from taking place after President Trump decided to cancel it after an American soldier was killed in the Kabul state capital. Trump canceled the meeting on the grounds that this military action was intended to put pressure on them a moment before signing the agreement, which was eventually not signed. Now, the signing of the agreement, which is sixty to the end of a 19-year-old war, seems to be nearing the end of the war in the region.

Later, talks between the parties were renewed once again and last December, they again came under fire when the Taliban launched a suicide bombing near the base used by US forces in Kabul. Peace talks were frozen once more after two US civilians were killed in the attack.

According to Reuters, two sources close to the core say the Taliban senior hangout has agreed to start a 10-day ceasefire. One official was quoted on Reuters as saying that "the United States wants us to announce a ceasefire during the peace talks, which we have rejected. The Shura Council (Taliban headquarters) approve the ceasefire only on the day the peace agreement is signed."
