The Iranian missile attack that occurred last Wednesday, January 8, was actually Iran's response to the assassination of Qassam Suleimani, a Quds Force commander of the Revolutionary Guards, who was eliminated by a US Air Force drone attack near Baghdad Iraq, before Exactly two weeks, on the third of January.

US President Donald Trump and the US military immediately claimed after the Iran attack that there were no casualties among US or Iraqi forces in Arbil Base, northern Iraq, and Ein al-Assad base in western Israel.

"While no U.S. soldier was killed in the January 8 missile attack on Ein Al Assad Air Force Base, several crew members received medical treatment following concussion symptoms as a result of the blast and are still under surveillance," Captain Bill Urban, a spokesman, said yesterday "Centcom," the U.S. Army Central Command.

Captain Urban emphasized that as a security measure designed to secure the soldiers' safety, several personnel were taken to US Army facilities in Germany and Kuwait, implying that the US military presence in the area is unlikely to change any time soon, "as soon as soldiers are eligible to return to service, they are expected to return to Iraq."

Recall last week, a volley of more than 15 missiles launched by Iran's Revolutionary Guards was fired at two US bases: Arbil Base located in northern Iraq and Ein al-Assad base in the west.

The US Department of Defense initially reported that several missiles hit the base of Ein al-Assad and created minimal damage. Among the items damaged in the attack were a Black Hawk helicopter, a spy drone, a surveillance tower, and a number of tents were destroyed at the base of Ein al-Assad, which houses about 1,000 US Army soldiers.
