After escaping from prison for two years, Ye showed up again in 1991. Within two years, he robbed a total of 7 gold shops in Kwun Tong and Mong Kok. He was listed as the number one wanted criminal by the police. In January 1993, Ye Jihuan and two accomplices broke into Xie Ruilin Jewellery and Gold Co., Ltd. in Nathan Road, Mong Kok, robbed 3 million yuan of gold jewelry, and refuted the fire with the police on Nathan Road.
By 1996, "The King of Thieves" was arrested. Ye and the two parties fled to Hong Kong with a large number of firearms and explosives. The Western Central landed a gun battle with the patrol officers. In 1997, Ye was sentenced to 41 years and 3 months in prison, and in 1999 the Court of Appeal changed his sentence to 36 years and 3 months. Ye has been imprisoned in Stanley Prison since then and married in 2003.
