Symptoms occurred between May 5 and 8, and they are now in stable condition. The total number of pneumonia cases of new coronavirus infection in Wuhan was 45, of which 5 were in serious condition and 2 died.
The Department urges the public to maintain personal, food and environmental hygiene at all times, avoid visiting hospitals and wet goods markets when traveling abroad, and avoid contact with animals and eating game.
The Center for Health Protection stated that according to the data of the National Health Commission, after the expert group comprehensively judged the clinical manifestations, epidemiological history, and laboratory test results of the patients, as of the 16th, Wuhan had four new cases of coronavirus infection. The pneumonia case involved 4 male patients who developed symptoms from January 5 to 8 this year. Three of them are now in stable condition.
As of January 16, the cumulative number of pneumonia cases of new coronavirus infection in Wuhan City was 45, of which 15 patients have been discharged, 5 are in serious condition, and 2 have died. The remaining patients are in stable condition. The authorities have tracked 763 close contacts, all of whom have received medical observations, of which 665 have completed observations and no related cases have been found.
A spokesman for the Center for Health Protection said that the center will continue to maintain contact with the National Health Commission, the World Health Organization and relevant foreign health departments to closely monitor the situation for risk assessment.
The spokesman reminded members of the public to avoid close contact with people with fever or respiratory symptoms in countries or regions where the spread of the new coronavirus infection is likely. If contact with them is unavoidable, they should wear surgical masks and continue to wear them until 14 days after returning to Hong Kong. The Department reminds the public to maintain good personal and environmental hygiene at all times, including keeping hands clean at all times; to cover mouth and nose with tissues when sneezing or coughing; when symptoms of respiratory tract infection occur, surgical masks should be worn instead of going to work or school, Avoid crowded places and seek medical advice as soon as possible.
The Department reminds citizens to pay special attention when traveling abroad and avoid visiting hospitals, wet goods markets, live poultry markets or farms. In addition, members of the public should not come into contact with animals, birds or their droppings, and must not eat game food. If you feel unwell, especially if you have a fever or cough, wear a surgical mask and seek medical advice as soon as possible.
