The Lebanese Red Cross announced that 75 people were injured today during the ongoing clashes between Lebanese security forces and rioters in Al-Najma Square in central Beirut.
The Red Cross stated that "30 injuries so far have been transferred to the region's hospitals, while 45 have been treated in the area," noting that five of his teams are working on the ground in central Beirut to help the injured and transport the wounded to hospitals.
The confrontations started after a number of protesters in Najma Square attacked the elements of the Lebanese security forces using firecrackers, stones, glass and wooden panels, and iron bars, while the security forces responded by spraying the protesters with water from the civil defense and firefighting cars, and erected barbed wire fences at the entrances to the Lebanese Parliament and some institutions.
