Ahead of the World Holocaust Forum, which begins Wednesday, in Jerusalem, major roadblocks and disruptions to public transport lines are underway. Police, transport companies and the President's House are preparing for the event, "Remembering the Holocaust, Fighting Anti-Semitism," in which about 50 delegations of leaders from around the world will participate.

The forum will be held from Wednesday to Friday, January 22-24, and police are preparing for an operation called "Futures." The operation will be managed by the security forces by thousands of policemen, together with the establishment of a CCP (Front Command Room) control of the nation's buildings. Emil Botha and Mafu will close from Wednesday morning until Friday noon.

In addition to them, during some of the daytime on Wednesday, the streets will be closed to President, Rabin Boulevard, Rothschild and Burg. Parking on the streets of Agron, Ramban, Jabotinsky, the President and King David will be banned from midnight Tuesday to Wednesday at noon. For residents with parking notes on these streets, the municipality will allow parking at "Agron" and "Ahad Ha'am corner Sokolov" free of charge .

Public Transport

During the visit, disruptions to the public transport lines are expected, with an emphasis on the entrance areas to the city, the city center and Mount Herzl and it will be adapted to alternative roads. Israel Railways will operate as they should.

Dozens of prominent leaders from around the world complied with President Reuben Rivlin's invitation to an event organized by the World Holocaust Forum, in association with Yad Vashem and sponsored by President of the United States Mike Pence, German President Frank Walter Steinmeier, French President Emmanuel Macron, King of Spain Felipe Sixth, Prince Charles and also Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is expected to inaugurate a monument in the Sucker Garden in memory of those killed in the siege of Leningrad.

During the dinner, the President of the State, the official host of the events, the King of Spain as the representative of the leaders, and the Israel Prize laureate and Holocaust researcher Prof. Yehuda Bauer will speak.

"There has never been such a large global conference, and so impressive, on the subject of anti-Semitism," Rivlin said. "We will gather together to think about how Holocaust memory can be instilled into future generations in the world without survivors, and what are the urgent steps that must be taken to ensure the safety and security of Jews all over the world."
