Is the smoking gun found in Iran's intent to develop nuclear weapons? The Daily Mail unveiled a document this morning, according to the newspaper, obtained by the institution in a raid on the Tehran nuclear archive, confirming concerns in Israel that the Iranian nuclear program was intended for nuclear weapons development, and not just for civilian purposes as claimed in Tehran.

The document, which will be part of a broader report by the Friends of Israel Initiative, a group of foreign relations experts, and members of former leaders from various countries, lists requirements for the Iranian nuclear warhead plan - which the organization proves to be a military plan.

The document, as published in the Daily Mail

In the document, dated February 17, 2002, Iranian nuclear program director Mohsen Pakrizadeh requests to hand over the requirements for the development of an explosive head and missile, and Pakrizada himself wrote the document in handwriting "This is in care, the original form must be filed."

According to the report's drafters, who say they have been briefed by Israeli security forces, Iran planned to become a nuclear power, which contradicts the nuclear agreement signed between Iran and the Western powers in 2015.

As mentioned, members of the initiative claim that the document was obtained as part of the 2018 Iranian nuclear archive raid, which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed in April that year. During the raid, the institution obtained about 55,000 Iranian documents and 183 CDs detailing the nuclear program. A few days after the unveiling of the archive, US President Donald Trump announced his retirement from the nuclear agreement and the crackdown on Iran.

Since the US retirement, Iran has begun withdrawing from its commitments to the agreement, and in recent days has even announced that it has stopped limiting uranium enrichment. In the wake of its recent actions, the defense establishment estimates that Iran will be able to develop nuclear weapons in two years.
