At about 5.30 pm on Monday (20th), officers of the Customs Narcotics Bureau intercepted a 21-year-old young man at Wufang Street, San Po Kong, and seized about 130 grams of suspected "ice" poison on his body. He returned to a sub-rental unit in an industrial building nearby and searched. He then seized about 1.9 kilograms of suspected "ice" poison and a batch of drug packaging tools. The total market value of the drugs was about 1.4 million yuan.
In the evening, the officers returned the suspect to a unit in Bowen House, Bokang Village, Shatin, and searched. It is reported that the arrested man reported being unemployed and renting the industrial unit involved for about two months. Zhang Wenjie, a senior inspector of the Customs Drug Investigation Division, said he believed that the suspects used the industrial unit to package and distribute drugs. It is estimated that they will be supplied to entertainment venues in the Kowloon area during the Lunar New Year.
