An Iraqi security source announced today that more than 100 cases of injuries and asphyxia between the demonstrators and the security forces were recorded in the events of Muhammad al-Qasim Road in the center of the capital, Baghdad.
The site "Alsumaria News" quoted a security source as saying in a statement that "the outcome of the events of Muhammad al-Qasim yesterday until today amounted to 96 cases of suffocation and injury, some of them are dangerous among the demonstrators," noting that 17 cases of suffocation and the injury of a number of security personnel were also recorded.
Some Iraqi cities and governorates are witnessing protest demonstrations calling for improving public services, providing water and electricity, eliminating unemployment and fighting corruption.
