The Cabinet discussed extensively the role and tasks of each ministry in implementing the implementation mechanism of Legislative Decree 3 and 4 of 2020 issued by President Bashar al-Assad regarding the tightening of penalties for dealers outside the Syrian pound.

The Council stressed that the two decrees are aimed at manipulators and speculators on the lira and do not target the sectors of business, investment and foreign trade, and cases permitted by law in foreign exchange trading, indicating that all measures aim to fortify the national currency, which positively reflects on the economic reality and the living situation of citizens.

In the same context, a request was made to the Ministry of Internal Trade to obligate commercial activities to announce clearly the prices of all consumer and durable goods to prevent abuses and enhance transparency and competition in sales and purchases in addition to applying the billing system in commercial transactions and instructed the Council and the Ministry of Local Administration to activate the role of governors and executive offices in obligating Commercial events to announce prices.

In its weekly session today, headed by Eng. Imad Khamis, Prime Minister, the Council endorsed the decisions of the Supreme Steering Committee of the e-government, and the ministries of finance, economy, foreign trade and the Central Bank of Syria were mandated to stimulate economic activities, unions, organizations and civil society and provide facilities and flexibility to open bank accounts in operating banks in preparation for the launch of the payment project Mail.

The Council approved the study prepared by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor on the reality and needs of the labor market and the employment policies necessary to create new job opportunities and employ human resources in an optimal way. Employment policies and laying solid foundations for managing and investing human resources and energies, defining the role of unions and the business sector by absorbing employment and directing the workforce in the public and private sectors.

The ministries of Agriculture and Internal Trade were asked to put in place the appropriate marketing mechanism for renting the entire wheat crop for the next season of farmers with greater flexibility and effectiveness than previous years and to continue to rent last season from the eastern governorates and automate the work of bakeries to prevent fraud and monopoly cases and rehabilitate the damaged silos in the governorate of Aleppo.
