(CNN) - Taylor Swift has shared a sad update on the battle her mother is fighting against cancer.
In the central article in the Variety magazine, published Tuesday, the singer said a brain tumor was found during her mother's treatment.
"The symptoms of what a person goes through when they have a tumor in the brain is nothing like what we have experienced before with their cancer," Swift said. "So it has been a really difficult time for us as a family," he added.

The pop star revealed that his mother, Andrea Swift, was diagnosed with cancer during an essay he wrote for Elle magazine in March 2019.
"My two parents have had cancer, and my mother is now fighting her battle against him again," said Swift. “This has taught me that there are real problems and then there is everything else. My mother's cancer is a real problem, ”he completed.
In December, Swift gave some clues as to why there would be fewer cities on his “Lover” concert tour during an interview with Billboard.
“This is a year in which I have to be there for my family; There are many question marks about next year, so I wanted to make sure I could go home, ”he explained.

Swift reiterated the need to be there for his mother.
“I mean, we don't know what will happen. We don't know what treatment we are going to choose, ”he said. "It was simply the decision to make at that time, for now, for what is happening."
He also talked about the close relationship he shares with his mother.
“Everyone loves their mother; everyone has an important mother, ”said Swift. “But for me, she is really the guiding force. Almost every decision I make, I talk to her first. So obviously it was a big deal to talk about his illness, ”he completed.
