(CNN Spanish) - Fernando Báez Sosa, a 19-year-old boy, died at dawn on Saturday at the exit of a dance venue in the spa town of Villa Gesell, as a result of the fist and kick attack he received from of a band of young rugby players.

“It's unfortunate what they did with my son. It is an injustice. They deserve to be paid for all that they did to him, ”Graciela Sosa claims while holding the photo of her only son, now dead. "They ruined his life."

According to the autopsy, the young university student died as a result of a "head trauma." "He was beaten a lot - his mother adds - he was beaten until he found no more with him, until he was killed."

But this does not seem to be an isolated case. In the few weeks of this 2020 they have already transcended several fights that have ended up with strong injuries and that involve rugby players.

One of them was in Punta del Este, a Uruguayan beach resort chosen by many Argentines on their vacations. There a young man who plays rugby in a Uruguayan club hit another in the face at an outdoor party. The victim had to be rushed to Buenos Aires to operate due to a broken jaw

A few days earlier, in another Argentine seaside resort, Mar del Plata, there was also a strong fight with young people who ended up lying on the ground, defending themselves from others who attacked them in droves.

In all cases, the vision of some young people to resolve their conflicts through violence seems to come together. A violence that seems to have no limits.

“For me, it is a social and educational issue, in principle that has to do with that before - regardless of the gender issue - before or father or mother were in charge of raising the baby or the baby and the other worked. There was permanent contact, ”says psychologist Germán Diorio, a sports specialist, and adds:“ When everyone has to go to work in the family group, the boy is educated in double schooling. Or you are educated in different activities. Or he is educated by a lot of people and dad - mom share fewer and fewer hours. They lose the benchmark. And losing the reference point also loses the transfer of values. ”

When going back in time, more violent cases related to rugbiers continue to appear. For example, in August of last year, five players from a Rosario club, about 300 kilometers from Buenos Aires, were sentenced to compensate three young people who had been beaten in a dance venue two years earlier, while in October 2019 also transcended the images of players from the lower divisions of another club in Buenos Aires that demolished and mistreated an elderly man in a drunken state.

In these situations, clubs are often indicated. "One in the clubs meets with parents who come ... I have been working in lower divisions in different clubs and they tell me, please set limits," says Diorio, for whom the limits should come from the parents.

“Boys who have no limits in the house. That they have labile and soft, attenuated limits, in clubs or schools because they pay a fee or because, well, they are children who are educating themselves with much more intangible boundaries barriers. And they are the boys who later become great and are already difficult to mold. And they are kids that reach adults who have violent manifestations quickly. ”

In that sense, the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR) issued an envelope on the Báez Sosa case and announced the creation of an awareness program to prevent such violent cases from recurring.

The statement was heavily criticized on social networks because it only speaks of the "death" of the young man and many believe they should have talked about murder.

At the moment, there are 11 young detainees between 18 and 20 years old. Only one has declared and denied his participation in the crime. The other ten, represented by the same defense lawyer, refused to testify when they were investigated for the crime of “homicide aggravated by the contest premeditated by two or more people,” which provides for the sole penalty of life imprisonment.

This Monday, meanwhile, the remains of Báez Sosa were buried. And his parents continue to demand justice.
