Damascus Governorate has started a campaign of afforestation on the sidewalks of streets in the city and its neighborhoods, with the aim of increasing green areas, adding aesthetics to the city, and improving its environmental reality.

About two thousand trees of types of bitter orange, olive, elm, carnobus, maple, luxurm, and azdrecht The Directorate of Gardens in the province is working to maintain its cultivation during the ongoing campaign for the end of next month, according to Engineer Mahmoud Mortada, director of the Directorate of Gardens in the province, in a statement to the delegate of Sana, noting that planting trees enhances the general appearance and contributes to decorating urban facilities .

Murtada stressed that the directorate is continuing the campaign of afforestation of gardens and public squares and the cultivation of flowering and colorful winter annuals in the squares and roadsides in addition to pruning trees as part of a plan to show the city of Damascus in the most vivid picture.
