More than 100 ministers and MPs from all over Europe will gather tomorrow (Tuesday) in Krakow, Poland, to discuss practical ways to deal with the recent phenomenon of rising anti-Semitism on the continent.

The special conference, initiated by the Association of European Jewish Organizations, is, among other things, examining ways to integrate Holocaust studies into European education systems, and to formulate legislation that would prohibit the use of anti-Semitic stereotypes such as last year's notorious Belgian Elast festival.

Parliamentarians are also seeking to prevent legislation from selling Nazi souvenirs, as a recent auction house in Munich has done.
The conference was held for the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz and Birkenau death camps near Krakow.

"Given the rising wave of anti-Semitism, old and new, and the 'Red-Green' coalition between the radical left and radical Islam, which blames anti-Semitism on both ends of the political spectrum, it is simply impossible to settle for statements like 'never again', which have unfortunately become empty clichés," Alerts the chairman of the Association of European Jewish Organizations, Rabbi Menachem Margolin.

During the event, the leaders will meet with former neo-Nazi Jonathan Langer, who immigrated from Germany to Israel, and with the daughter of Holocaust survivor Miri Knoll (85), who was murdered against an anti-Semitic background in March 2018 in her Paris apartment. The Knoll Foundation, the Israeli granddaughter of Miri Knoll, gave a rousing speech to conference participants, saying: "Today, we have been approaching people who think they have the right to determine who will die and who will live. My grandmother was 85 when she was crushed 11 times by a Muslim neighbor before he set her on fire. She survived the Holocaust, but still hated it because she was Jewish. "

"I'm here so you know it's not over. The hatred persists," she said painfully. "Israel has been with the world's strongest army for 71 years, so that Jews will no longer be murdered because of their Judaism." In addition, the Chief Rabbi of Israel will speak before and chair of the Yad Vashem Council, Rabbi Israel Meir Lau - the Auschwitz survivor himself.

French Senate Deputy Foreign Commissioner Andre Gaetoulan has expressed concern over the intensification of anti-Semitic attacks in France in recent years and the anti-Semitism from the extremes of society to the mainstream. Gatoulan, however, stressed that French authorities and President Emmanuel Macron are committed to a determined fight against anti-Semitism.
