How Guaidó and other persecuted leave Venezuela? 0:46

(CNN Spanish) - Deputies of the National Assembly of Venezuela chaired by Juan Guaidó met Tuesday in a public square in a sector of Caracas.

Juan Guanipa, vice president of the National Assembly, denounced that the session could not be held in the Legislative Palace due to the presence of armed groups, known as groups, sympathizers of the questioned President Nicolás Maduro. For Guanipa, there were no guaranteed security conditions.

On January 15 a group of armed civilians attacked a group of opposition deputies who were mobilized in several vehicles and who intended to reach the Federal Legislative Palace. Diosdado Cabello, president of the National Constituent Assembly, said the goal is to protect the Legislative Assembly's space from violence. "I feel proud because this is a collective of defenders of these spaces of the Bolivarian revolution," said Cabello.

The Government of Maduro has not ruled on the complaint of the presence of armed groups in the vicinity of the Legislative Palace on Tuesday. CNN has requested a comment on this but has not received a response.

"What has been done today tries to end the physical integrity of the deputies and we are totally willing to take the necessary risks," said Guanipa. "What they don't want is that we can meet to approve the authorization for Juan Guaidó to travel around the world seeking support," the legislator added.

However, during the outdoor session, the deputies managed to approve the absence of the president of the National Assembly for more than five days. In this way they granted a travel permit for Guaidó to make an international tour.

The president of the Assembly began an international tour in which he says "he will denounce the links of Nicolás Maduro with terrorism and the operation of these groups in Venezuela." Guaidó was in Colombia since Sunday where he attended the II hemispheric ministerial conference against terrorism and on Tuesday he held meetings with members of the Government of England. The opposition leader said he will also travel to Brussels, where the headquarters of the European Union and Davos, where the World Economic Forum has just begun.

Guanipa, who led the session, said that with this permission they hope to gain more support for the opposition and intensify the pressure against the Government of Nicolás Maduro.

"That is inconsequential," said Cabello on the Guaidó tour on Monday. "It is a lackey who is going to meet with his bosses, we are not worried at all," he said.

The designation of Tomás Guanipa, as representative of Guaidó in Colombia, was also approved during Tuesday's session.

Guanipa currently serves as Deputy and General Secretary of the First Justice party.
