Haifa Magistrate's Court hears Tuesday police request to extend the detention of nine Galilee residents arrested on suspicion of murder of 17-year-old boy from Nahariya, the late Avi Tsitsuashvili, who was shot and killed last week after being tried for an assassination attempt in Nahariya .

During the closed-door hearing, at the request of the police, it became clear that the detainees were suspected of two other homicides that have occurred in recent months in the northern region as well as an attempt to murder and disrupt an investigation.

Among the suspects are four who are directly suspected of the boy's murder and two other murders, and their detention was extended by 10 days. The other five suspects are suspected of aiding and abetting the murder, and their detention was extended by 48 hours in total.

According to police, the nine suspects are soldiers from crime families in Acre and Nahariya, who were shot dead in the Tzitzuashili Zl - who happened to be in the scene - while trying to injure another man who was seriously wounded by gunfire.

Nine suspects were identified following a covert and complex investigation involving the operation of special units and measures. It is suspected that after the shooting in Nahariya, the suspects fled the area and hid in a hideout apartment in Atlit, which was under surveillance by the High Court.

In a conversation held by a beach district commander, Peretz Amar, with Yossi Tsitsuashvili, Avi Zal's father, told him that the suspects involved in the murder were located and arrested by a beach commander. According to the father, the district commander told him about the arrests Further to Amar's pledge to parents that the police are investigating and using all the resources and units to catch those involved.

Father Yossi Tsitsuashvili added: "The police are doing its job, but I'll tell the truth - it's not comforting to me. I don't care about anything and I don't care about anything. Call the police, say they have arrested several suspects, who are holding them and that they want to do justice and bring them to justice. It won't bring me back. Everyone was here - a coastal district commander and senior police officers who assured us they would find those who did it and do justice.

It's not really interesting to me, because the boy won't be back. That's the truth. I just do not wish anyone to experience such a thing. That this tragic case that happened to us with my father Zal will be the last. Our father was not connected to this event, he was just paying for his life, "he added.
