Who is "José N", financial operator of "El Chapo" 1:50
(CNN Spanish) - The Attorney General of Mexico informed, through a statement, that he extradited José "S", accused of criminal association and crimes against health, for which a federal court in California required him.
This is José Sánchez Villalobos, his own lawyer Guadalupe Valencia confirmed to CNN. According to Valencia, his client pleaded not guilty in the reading of charges that took place on January 13. According to court documents, on February 3 there will be a new hearing before Judge Michael M. Anello of the Southern District of California.
Sánchez Villalobos is known with the alias of the “Lord of the Tunnels”, suspected of building and operating the sophisticated tunnels that Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán used to transfer Tijuana drugs in Mexico to the United States.
Mexican authorities say that José Sánchez Villalobos was one of the main financial operators of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, held in the federal maximum security prison in Florence, Colorado.
José Sánchez Villalobos was arrested in January 2012 in Zapopan, Jalisco, by members of the Mexican Army, the National Defense Secretariat reported in a statement.
The authorities accused him of being as the financial operator of the Pacific Cartel in Baja California and Jalisco.
Mexican authorities say they located him on the trail of US $ 15,350,000 that had been seized in November 2011 in Tijuana.
