Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri called on the new government to work to find economic and financial solutions and achieve life and institutional stability through a program of reforms and achievements.
Berri said during a parliamentary meeting today that "the government, with the capabilities it possesses, is able to formulate programs that can form the cornerstone of getting out of the current crisis, provided that it is the government of all Lebanese." He pointed out that the national responsibility requires dealing with confidence and positivity with the government and avoiding the negatives.
Berri stressed that “the parliament will have eyes open to oversight and accountability in the event of default by the government,” pointing out that the priority of the parliament’s work is towards approving all reform laws that were on the agenda of the plenary session, foremost of which are anti-corruption laws and the recovery of looted funds and the law of parliamentary elections.
Yesterday, President Aoun issued a decree forming a new government headed by Hassan Diab, which includes 20 ministers, including 6 women.
