A number of Lebanese demonstrated today in the vicinity of the parliament in central Beirut, and they tried to remove fortifications in front of the parliament entrance and threw stones and firecrackers towards the riot police.

The Lebanese National News Agency stated that a number of protesters against the formation of the new government removed parts of barbed wire from in front of the parliament’s entrance and climbed the iron gate leading to its entrance, while a number of them gathered in the internal alleys surrounding the parliament and tried to enter Najma Square while anti-government forces Riots push them away with water cannons and tear gas.

The place witnessed suffocating traffic and heavy proliferation of members of the Internal Security Forces, who worked to control the situation.

In Dahr al-Baydar, protesters attempted to form the new Lebanese government, blocking the road near the internal security forces checkpoint, while the Hasbaya road was set aside with stones and the Hasbaya Mimis road at Wadi Mimes by car.

Dozens of Lebanese protesters gathered yesterday evening in front of the Lebanese parliament in the center of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, after announcing the formation of the new government headed by Hassan Diab.

Since October 17, Lebanon has been witnessing sit-ins to demand an improvement in the living situation and accountability for the corrupt.
