The Ministry of Interior: Seizing a branch of a commercial company in Damascus that deals in a currency other than the Syrian pound

The Ministry of Interior announced today that the Criminal Security Department seized a branch of a commercial company in the “Shaalan” locality in Damascus that deals in a currency other than the Syrian pound by selling goods based on foreign exchange rates that are traded on the pages of social networking sites.

In a statement, SANA received a copy of it, the Ministry drew that, in coordination with the Judicial Officer at the Central Bank of Syria, a financial amount of "fifteen million three hundred and ninety six thousand Syrian pounds" was found in the company’s branch and several bills, documents and documents proving that the company was doing business outside the lira in its commercial activities.

Documents and documents were seized, five laptop computers and three network servers were confiscated, and the branch manager and managing director was arrested.

The statement indicated that the sums have been handed over to the Central Bank of Syria in the first place, and investigations are still ongoing with the arrested to reveal all those involved in the case.
