[Observatory] Wet, foggy, windy and rainy at the beginning of the year

At 7 am, the Observatory recorded a temperature of 21.2 degrees and a relative humidity of 92 percent. The highest UV index today is expected to be about 5, with moderate intensity.

There was fog in Hong Kong this morning, and visibility of Waglan Island dropped to about 100 meters. In addition, an easterly airstream is affecting the coast of eastern Guangdong and is expected to gradually increase today.

Weather: Hong Kong is generally cloudy today, wet and foggy, with a few rain showers in the morning and evening, and a short period of sunshine during the day. The temperature ranges from 20 to 24 degrees. Easterly winds moderated, and the wind gradually strengthened later.

The Observatory's outlook: the first day of the first year is quite windy with a few rain patches; the second day of the second year is markedly cooler with occasional rain; the first three days of the new year and the fourth day of the morning are cold.
