The Human Rights Watch organization published its most recent report on the border situation in the Colombian department of Arauca and the Venezuelan state of Apure. According to the report, the area is controlled by the National Liberation Army and by a dissent from the FARC that operate with total impunity, provide the guidelines for living in the area and impose rules. According to the report, among the criminal activities of these groups is to intimidate, kidnap, torture and murder.
