Iraqi President Barham Saleh today discussed with the Secretary-General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, the latest decision of the House of Representatives on the withdrawal of foreign forces from Iraq.
The Iraqi Presidency Office said in a statement carried by the Iraqi Media News Agency, conscious that Saleh received Stoltenberg at his residence in Davos, Switzerland, and stressed the importance of respecting the sovereignty of Iraq and its independent decision, as well as reviewing with him the security conditions and the need to root out terrorism and support security and stability in Iraq and the region.
The Iraqi Council of Representatives voted on the fifth of this month, by an absolute majority, on a decision obligating the Iraqi government to end the foreign presence in the country after the American crimes against the Iraqi headquarters and leadership and high-level military leaders.
