At least one person died and five others were seriously injured, including a child, during a shooting in Seattle, Washington, on Wednesday afternoon. Policemen confronted the armed subject, but managed to escape, the Seattle Police Department reported in its Twitter social network account.

No police officer or assistant sheriff of King County were injured during the confrontation, authorities said.
Police said the suspect shot near a McDonalds fast food restaurant.
"We heard what sounded like a bunch of automatic gun shots: only 30-40 shots, just 'Bam-bam-bam-bam-bam!'" Said a witness at the local Komo News station who only gave his name as Win "We saw people running down the sidewalk towards the McDonalds and hiding around the corner."
It is unknown until now what caused the shooting, but police rule out that it was an 'active shooter' or a political extremist.
This is the third shooting in a week in the center of this city, according to the KIRO 7 station. Just three hours before the police fired on an armed man who crashed into a patrol car in the city center.
