The session of discussions held today at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research headed by Minister of Higher Education Dr. Bassam Ibrahim and Iranian Minister of Education Mohsen Haji Merzai focused on promoting and developing joint scientific cooperation, especially in the field of scholarship exchange and the establishment of rehabilitation and training programs and exchange for students and professors and the establishment of scientific conferences and centers Research and technology incubators.
Minister Ibrahim noted the strong scientific relations between Syria and Iran and the numerous scientific, cultural and research cooperation programs between the two sides, pointing out that Iran and its scientific and research centers have come a long way in many advanced scientific fields, especially medical ones, as well as nanotechnology, stem cells and underground science.
For his part, the Iranian Minister of Education stressed his country's keenness to raise the level of scientific cooperation with Syria based on the common cultural divisions that exist between the two countries, pointing to the importance of exchanging experiences and experiences, preparing teachers and developing curricula and establishing joint scientific camps for students and signing more scientific agreements between the universities of the two countries indicating that the number Universities in Iran are 115 government universities and 800 private universities.
The talks session was attended by the Iranian ambassador in Damascus, Jawad Turk Turki, the Iranian delegation accompanying the minister, and from the Syrian side, President of Damascus University, Dr. Muhammad Maher Kabagibi, and the assistants of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and director of cultural relations at the ministry.
