Two children were killed and five others injured in a school bus crash in central Germany in Thuringia today.
The Associated Press quoted local officials as saying, "The bus carrying 22 children of primary school students between the ages of 8 and 11 years slipped heavily on an ice road and capsized several times before crashing into a deep crater near the village of Birka, 260 kilometers southwest of the capital." Berlin .. The accident killed two children and wounded five others.
The cause of the accident remains unclear as investigations are continuing.
