An indictment was filed Thursday in Haifa District Court against Daniel Yelzari, a 23-year-old soldier from Kiryat Ata for a Union Bank robbery in Kiryat Bialik, last Thursday. Yelzari, a graduate of a combat engineering unit, who admitted robbing the bank, arrived at an electric bike and was wearing an IDF uniform and a "warm neck" at the time of the incident. He wore a military hat and ski goggles and held a toy gun in his hand. According to the indictment, he handed the officer a sack, in which he wrote with the words: "It's a robbery! Money! I'm sorry!"

She deposited NIS 2,990 in notes while the bank manager approaching her post managed to exchange a few words with the polite robber. Yelzri was captured immediately after the robbery behind the IKEA branch in Kiryat Ata. He said he was on his way to surrendering himself at the Zebulun police station.

Station investigators do not accept this version, claiming he even tried to deceive the police, telling them that the source of the money in his hands was from the bicycle sale. The lawsuit intends to present to the court a video captured by Zebulun station investigators, which documents how Yelzari changed his clothes and shoes.

"I ruined my life," Daniel told investigators, who last week extended his detention. Today, at a court hearing, he shed tears in the defendant's cell. His mother and sister sobbed during the hearing on the audience benches in the courtroom. After the trial, they approached him, reinforced him and expressed their love.

Parallel to the indictment, the prosecutor's office sought to extend Yelzari's detention until the legal proceedings against him were completed. A hearing on the matter will still be held, but Judge Yechiel has accepted the request of defense attorneys, attorneys Tammy Ullman, Shadi Seruji and Shahaf Ullman, who represent Yelzari, and sent him to the probation office so that the detention alternative will also be considered. He extended his detention until another decision on the matter.

"This is the salt of the earth, an outstanding soldier who, prior to conscription, also did years of service," his relative told Walla! NEWS. "He took a serious crisis in the home and financial distress, and he may have had some momentary interest," she added.
