(CNN Spanish) - The Government of the interim president of Bolivia, Jeanine Áñez suspended her diplomatic relations with Cuba.

The announcement was made at a press conference on Friday by the Minister of the Presidency, Yerko Núñez.

Núñez explained that the decision was taken for "the recent and inadmissible expressions of Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez and the permanent hostility and constant grievances against the Bolivian Government and its democratic process."

“Vulgar lies of the self-proclaimed coup in Bolivia. Another sample of his servitude to the US I should explain to the people that after the return to Cuba of collaborators, due to the violence they were subjected to, more than 454,440 medical attention has been stopped, ”the Cuban Foreign Minister published on his Twitter account on Tuesday.

Vulgar lies of the self-proclaimed coup in #Bolivia. Another sample of his servility to #EEUU. I should explain to the people that after returning to #Cuba of collaborators, due to the violence they were subjected to, more than 454,440 medical attention has been stopped.

“The Bolivian government has to enforce sovereignty and be enforced before these countries,” said Nunez about the message of the Cuban foreign minister.

Rodriguez's message was published the day Áñez gave a message to the nation commemorating Plurinational State Day. In her speech, the interim president denounced that during the mandate of former President Evo Morales, funds were allocated for Cuban medical brigades, according to Áñez, to finance the Government of Cuba. Although Áñez did not offer evidence, he said that the Morales Government never detailed the scope of the agreements with the Government of Cuba.

Morales has not reacted to Áñez's accusations, CNN is seeking a reaction from the former president and is waiting for a response.

Following Morales's resignation in the middle of a social outbreak over allegations of fraud in the general elections in Bolivia, the interim government expelled Cuban citizens, including doctors, so as not to "exasperate" the tension between Bolivia and Cuba. According to the Government of Bolivia, Cuban citizens encouraged violence during the protests, a signal that was rejected by the Government of Cuba. More than 400 Cuban doctors working in Bolivia returned to the
island.

“My solidarity with Cuban medical brothers who are targets of harassment and illegal persecution,” Morales posted on his Twitter account after the expulsion of doctors in November.

My solidarity with Cuban medical brothers who are the target of harassment and illegal persecution ordered by the coupist Camacho, through his "minister" of the Presidency and Murillo. They say they are "transitional," but they use the Armed Forces and Police for repression. #NoAlGolpe # YesAlDiálogo
