The Corona virus continues to spread worldwide: 3 cases of the mysterious disease that originated in the Hubei province of China were discovered in Singapore on Friday, state health officials said. A first case of the disease was also discovered in Vietnam.

In a special statement issued by the local health ministry, the authorities are preparing for additional cases of virus infection, due to the large volume of traffic coming to the country from China.

In the meantime, the death toll in the mysterious disease first diagnosed in Wuhan city in central China has risen to 26 this morning and the number of infected persons now stands at over 800.

This morning, state media outlets announced that a large 1,000-bed medical center was being hastily built in Wuhan City to facilitate the hospitalization and isolation of patients and people who came in contact with patients. The hospital was built in a recreation complex and park near the city center and heavy engineering tools were observed at the scene.

20 million people under siege

Authorities in China have closed public transport to ten cities in the center of the country, near the outbreak of the Corona virus. It has also been reported that private car traffic between cities has also been restricted and there is growing concern over food shortages and basic consumer goods.

Meanwhile, reports of the collapse of the health care system in Wuhan are increasing. City residents told the British Guardian that they were trying to get to a hospital for medical treatment and were sent away claiming the place was full. It has also been reported that the hospitals have run out of diagnostic kits for people with high fever and difficulty breathing, the symptoms typical of the corona virus.

Photos circulated on the Chinese "Weibo" social network revealed the chaotic reality inside Wuhan City Hospitals, where people lay in corridors, hundreds of patients seeking treatment in the emergency rooms, and patients in terminally ill patients in special isolation units.
