(CNN Spanish) - At least 10 dead, including eight minors, left a fire in a cane field in the city of Cagua, Aragua state, in northern Venezuela.
The mayor of the municipality Sucre, Miriam Pardo, confirmed through the mayor's account that the fire occurred in the community of La Carpiera on Thursday afternoon.
"Some children of that community, very sadly, suffered the consequences of a fire and the change of route and wind speed left them trapped in the cane fire," said Pardo.
