(CNN Spanish) - This Friday, the federal court in Brooklyn in New York issued a new arrest warrant against Ivan Reyes Arzate, former commander of the Mexican federal police.
The federal court reported that Reyes Arzate is already in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center.
The former federal police commander is accused of conspiracy for possession, distribution and importation of cocaine into the United States.
CNN has tried to contact the defense attorney of Reyes Arzate but has failed to contact him at the moment.
