President Andrés Manuel López Obrador promised them a job upon arrival in Mexico, but they found a wall of soldiers. Before dawn they entrusted themselves to God, someone shouted "Let's go to the river!" and everyone followed him. Thousands of Central American migrants cross the Suchiate River that separates Guatemala from Mexico. They carry their children in their arms and a few meters away they can see the border. There, on the other side, the National Guard awaits them to prevent them from passing behind the border fence where a sign says "Welcome to Mexico."
