Photo: US EmbassyUS President Donald Trump said Friday he will announce the Centennial Plan for the Middle East ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's planned visit to Washington next week. Netanyahu was invited by US Vice President Mike Pence while visiting the United States Embassy in Jerusalem. Trump said the Palestinians may initially react negatively to the plan, but that would benefit them. "This is a great plan that will really work," said Trump, who will meet with Netanyahu next Tuesday, on January 28.
According to estimates, the century deal will include recognizing sovereignty in some territories but demanding concessions from Israel, Trump tweeted that "reports on our private plan and peace plan are completely speculative."
Last night, Palestinians issued warnings to Israel and the United States about crossing red lines. Nabil Abu Roudina, spokesman for Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, threatened that if the plan was announced to exclude the establishment of a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders of East Jerusalem, "the leadership will announce a series of measures that will guarantee our rights."

The Gaza Strip also threatened to act against the plan's execution. Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem emphasized that the Palestinian people would not allow their fate to be determined, but rather, they would set it for themselves, and their borders would not be drawn as part of a resolution passed by the White House. "You will not go through any deal or scheme that will detract from our full rights to our lands and holy places, and any attempts to transfer the deal will run into our nation's steadfast standing," he said.
In recent days, talks have been held in the US administration regarding the date of publication of the program. Israeli officials who are knowledgeable about the situation say the White House is debating whether to announce the plan during the election, and Netanyahu, supported by United States Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, pressed President Trump to publish the plan as soon as possible. According to the political system, the Trump administration's plan is expected to be most beneficial to Israel and to include American recognition of sovereignty in some territories, but it will nonetheless include some concessions from Israel.
