All materials will be reused or donated

The FEHD stated that the contractors collected a total of about 57 metric tons of bamboo branches, 3 metric tons of wood pallets, 14 metric tons of withered or unsold flowers and 1 metric tons of food waste at the 15 Lunar New Year Fairs. In counting. All materials will be arranged for recycling or donated by the Environmental Protection Agency to other groups and people to make the best use of them. In addition, 22 volunteer teams composed of FEHD employees donated 1,218 pots of flowers and potted plants collected at the Lunar New Year Fair to 197 homes for the elderly or homes for the disabled and 8 public hospitals.

Mobilizing 201 employees to clean up Victoria Park

To clean up the garbage at the Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair, the FEHD mobilized 201 staff and mobilized 33 garbage collection trucks and water trucks. The remaining 14 Lunar New Year Fairs were cleaned up by outsourced cleaning service contractors. The clean-up of all the Lunar New Year markets is completed at about 5 pm. After thorough cleaning, the site has returned to its original appearance.
