About 100,000 travelers today visit the nature reserves and national parks. The pleasant weather for hiking today brought about 100,000 hikers to the nature and national parks. The most prominent sites were Banias Nature Reserve with 5,000 hikers, Ein Afek and Nahal with about 2,000 hikers each, and Caesarea National Park, Masada and Yarkon with 3,000 hikers each.
Among the most prominent activities that took place this Saturday were the mud march in the Yarkon National Park with a variety of activities and experiential walking in the mud and new antiquities in the Beit Guvrin National Park. Another prominent site was the Megiddo National Park, which allowed visitors a special glimpse of the ancient water plant that was filled with a great deal of water thanks to recent rains, a rarity that has not been seen for decades.
In the meantime, the Nature and Parks Authority is preparing to mark the International Day for Conservation of Aquatic Habitats to be noted in Israel next weekend, with the aim of raising awareness and the importance of preserving these habitats with their diverse flora and fauna. As part of this day, there will be a variety of activities in the reserves and national parks for the whole family.
