Rescue operations continued to search for survivors under the rubble following the powerful earthquake that struck yesterday in eastern Turkey, killing 29 people.
Agence France-Presse quoted the Emergency and Disaster Management Agency as saying that 43 people had been rescued from the rubble of the collapsed buildings in Alazig.
Paramedics estimate that 19 others are still being held.
The earthquake, with a magnitude of 6.8 on the Richter scale, occurred yesterday evening, and its epicenter was determined in the town of Sivrijah in the province of Elazig and was felt by residents of neighboring countries.
And an earthquake struck again today, the Cevrija district of the Azig state in eastern Turkey, which measured 5.1 on the Richter scale.
