What the Taylor Swift documentary on Netflix tells 0:25

(CNN) - When a celebrity decides to make public that she has suffered eating disorders of some kind, she confirms that these battles do not discriminate and that they affect everyone equally. Being famous may even generate extra weight for celebrities, who, beyond fighting for their “ideal weight,” must make an additional effort to maintain the beauty stereotypes of a star today.

The most recent case is that of pop star Taylor Swfit, who told how he overcame an eating disorder in his new documentary "Miss American" by Netflix, which premiered at the Sundance film festival on Thursday.

In the touching production and as Variety reports, Swfit says that it has not been good to see photos of herself every day and adds not to be proud of that. It is surprising to hear the artist say that when she saw photos of her taken by paparazzi she felt “that her abdomen was too large, or if someone thought she looked pregnant despite her slender silhouette,” she stopped eating.

The artist also tells Variety that she didn't know if she would feel comfortable talking about body image, but that the way director Lana Wilson helped her tell the story seemed very logical.

Swift believes that the trigger for the problem was a cover title: "Pregnant at 18?" The picture that illustrated him showed his bulging abdomen and the young woman assumed the episode at that time as a punishment.

Swfit is one more on the list of celebrities who have revealed their battles against eating disorders.

Demi Lovato has been one of the most open, not only to talk about how to stay sober and deal with bipolar disorder, but also about her eating disorders. In the documentary that premiered in 2017 on YouTube about his rise to fame, "Simply Complicated", Lovato - then 25 - said that even controlling his relationship with food was still the biggest challenge in his life. In the documentary, Lovato said he didn't want to give him the power to say that he controlled each of his thoughts but that it was something he constantly thought about.

Eating problems have no age. Let the legendary actress Jane Fonda say it, who in her autobiography tells that she suffered from bulimia and anorexia for 25 years.

Another celebrity who has spoken in the media about her personal battles has been singer Lady Gaga.

In 2012, Gaga was shown in underwear, to inspire others who suffered from eating problems to be brave and incidentally, to reject criticism of being overweight.

The National Association of Eating Disorders of the USA It has a line of calls for support (+1800 931-2237) and offers live chat, attention via text messages and more resources for people suffering from such disorders, all confidential. Internationally, the Eating Disorder Hope organization has the help line + 1 855 793 2519. If you know someone who may need help, share this information.
