UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Ziad al-Nahin shared a surprising tweet on Twitter today in which he remembers those who perished in the Holocaust.
"Days when we remember the Nazi Holocaust, we stand with humanity rejecting racism, hatred and extremism, and remembering together the innocent souls that have been destroyed - so that these crimes will not return against humanity," tweeted Nahain.

Recall, about a month ago, Al Nahine shared an article from the British newspaper "Spectator" calling for normalization between Arab and Israeli states and describing an Israeli-Arab alliance. The quote that the UAE Foreign Minister chose to add to the article was: "The Muslim Reformation: Arab-Israeli Alliance Forms in the Middle East." This is a rare discovery of the complex relations between Israel and the Gulf states in recent years - including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
Foreign Minister Israel Katz then responded to the tweet, writing: "Thank you Abdullah bin Ziad. Now is a good time to move toward a non-war and mutual cooperation agreement between Israel and the Gulf countries."
In the past year, the relationship has become even more noticeable on the surface, due to the increased Iranian threat to the Gulf states and the need for governments in Riyadh and Abu Dhabi to form a stable ally in the region.

The person who quickly shared the quote was Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who, without adding anything, retweeted the original tweet on his official page.
Confidential meetings and senior visits
In August, the Wall Street Journal reported that Israel and the United Arab Emirates were holding secret talks organized by the United States as part of an effort to coordinate a regional response to the Iranian threat.
The US newspaper quoted a senior source in the U.S. diplomatic service as saying that those behind Washington's coordination efforts are none other than Iranian President's adviser Brian Hawk.
According to the source, the first meeting was attended by a senior level in the spring and another meeting was held a few weeks ago. The source claims that the talks were hidden from most diplomatic service, and only a few knew about their existence.
The report also said that the talks, which are still in initial stages, are more than a symbolic United Arab gesture towards Israel, and will discuss increasing military, diplomatic and economic cooperation.
