After a series of in-depth meetings with senior IDF officials and the defense establishment, Defense Minister Naftali Bennett approved the IDF's multi-year program - "momentum".
The plan was presented to the Minister by Chief of Staff, Maj. Gen. Aviv Kochavi, Deputy Chief of Staff, Maj. Gen. Eyal Zamir, Chief of Planning, Maj. Gen. Amir Abulafia, and other senior executives, following a series of discussions that dealt with analyzing the challenges of the IDF in the coming decade. Still requires Cabinet approval.

In the meantime, the Minister approved a series of IDF readiness decisions for the various arenas, purchasing weapons, developing new capabilities, improving training, organizing the army, conditions in the IDF and more.
The minister congratulated the IDF and its commanders on the in-depth process, adding that in its view the plan brings with it a significant line that will allow the IDF to increase its advantage over its enemies.
Following the approval of the Minister of Defense, the plan for the approval of the Political-Security Cabinet will be presented at its forthcoming meeting and will subsequently be presented to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.

At the heart of the plan lies the principle of deciding the enemy in a fast and powerful way, in the face of many complex arenas. The program exploits the advantages of the State of Israel and its strengths, "With a sober look at the challenges and risks, most notably the Iranian threat. We will not flinch, on the contrary. We will continue to operate, anytime, anywhere."
