History: Interior Minister Arie Deri signed a decree for the first time permitting Israelis to leave for Saudi Arabia, according to his authority under section 7 of the Entry into Israel Law.
The decision is coordinated with the security forces, the Foreign Ministry, the NSC and other relevant agencies, and will allow Saudi Arabia to exit on two occasions:
Foreign Minister Israel Katz visits Abu Dhabi
Going out for religious worship during the Hajj and observance of the Umara staff. Exit to attend business meetings or to seek investment for up to nine days. This is provided the applicant has entered Saudi Arabia and holds an invitation from an official. It should be noted that granting the permit to Saudi Arabia is contingent upon the applicant's departure from any other party.
This is another sign of a rapprochement between Israel and the Gulf states, after the historic meeting of Foreign Minister Israel Katz in Bahrain with Foreign Minister. According to foreign reports, there is also a rapprochement between Saudi Arabia and Israel in particular, when in the past it was reported that the Saudis have purchased from Israel the Iron Dome system.
