Rescue crews in Turkey continue to rescue survivors of buildings that collapsed in the earthquake more than a day and a half after striking the eastern state. Authorities said the death toll increased to at least 31 people. The Emergency Management and Disaster Management Agency statement said that as a result of the 6.8 magnitude noise, more than 1,550 people were injured, and 45 people were rescued from ruins so far.

As night temperatures dropped to 5 degrees, emergency crews erected more than 9,500 tents for the displaced and distributed about 17,000 hot meals. Rescue teams are concentrating their efforts on the Mustafa Pasha neighborhood of the city of Alsig and nearby Siberian town, the closest residential areas to the noise center, which is felt in various countries in the region, including in Israel.

On Turkish television, the rescue of Ayesha Yildiz, 35, and her two-year-old daughter Yusra were broadcast from an apartment building that collapsed in the Mustafa Pasha neighborhood. They were trapped for 28 hours. Almost 600 sub-noises were detected during the rescue operations, one of which, this morning, was 4.3.

Common earthquakes in Turkey, located on two major fault lines. Two strong earthquakes that hit the northwest in 1999 caused the deaths of some 18,000 people.

Yesterday, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan canceled planned events in Istanbul and reached the noise centers. He also attended the funeral of a woman and her son killed in the earthquake, which he described as a "test" for Turkey.

"We are doing everything we can as a state and as a nation, and we will continue to do so. Our efforts at all rescue sites will continue," he said at the funeral. He added that government housing company TOKI will ensure no one remains "hungry or in the open." Erdogan said houses will be built for displaced residents.
