President of the US House of Representatives Intelligence Committee Adam Schiff said President Donald Trump had threatened him on Twitter.
Trump launched a new attack earlier today on Democrats, led by Schiff, who leads the accountability investigation to isolate him, and wrote on Twitter, "He has not yet paid the price for what he has done to our country."
"I think he meant it," Schiff said, responding to a question in an interview with NBC television.
Discussions were launched in the US Senate last Tuesday in the context of Trump's trial in the rare use of a constitutional mechanism to isolate him after he was accused of requesting the assistance of a foreign country to interfere with the upcoming presidential elections in the country and tipping the electoral race to his advantage.
This is the third accountability of a president in US history as removing Trump from office needs the support of a two-thirds majority of the Senate.
