A house in Morocco has sentenced 15 years to a cleaner who stole 36 luxury watches that belonged to King Muhammad VI. Her attorneys told the French news agency that her sentence was sentenced on a night between Friday and Saturday by a capital in Rabat.
The woman, 46, was a farm worker in the palace. Initially, she smashed the watches and sold the gold to the merchants, before selling them in their entirety. 14 more people - all gold traders or brokers - were sent to at least four years in prison for their part in the affair. One, convicted of partnering with the woman, was sentenced to 15 years behind bars.
The group was arrested late last year and charged with trying to establish a "criminal organization", but she told the judge they were unaware of the king's robbery.
In 2014, the 56-year-old Morocco king was named one of the richest people in the world by Forbes Magazine, with more than $ 2.5 billion in capital. Except for luxury watches, he is a lover of luxury cars, paintings and yachts.
